工业污水处理是将工业生产过程中产生的废水进行深度处理，这对保护环境，减少环境负担起到非常重要的作用。
工业污水(industrialwastewater)包括生产废水和生产污水，是指工业生产过程中产生的废水和废液，其中含有随水流失的工业生产用料、中间产物、副产品以及生产过程中产生的污染物。

随着我国工业的发展，工业废水的排放量日益增加，工业废水对流域环境及居民健康造成了一定的影响。近几年来我国越来越注重工业废水的治理。
根据处理深度的不同，污水处理可分为一级处理、二级处理和深度处理，一级处理主要为非水溶性物质的去除，调整pH值和减轻污水腐化程度等;二级处理主要为采用活性污泥、生物膜法、化学法等去除污水中溶解有机物和悬浮物等;三级处理主要使用MBR法，为在二级处理的基础上进一步去除污水中难降解物质、微量有毒有机物等。根据《城市污水处理及污染防治技术政策》指导，日处理能力在20万立方米以上(包括20万立方米/日)的污水处理设施，一般采用常规活性污泥法。也可采用其它成熟技术。
